Esteemed among both industry leaders and clients, Steve Helms is an award-winning builder who’s known for his outstanding quality. Steve’s building excellence began nearly 30 years ago, when he placed in the top 10 at a nationwide high school carpentry contest. After working in construction during the late 1970s and early ’80s, Steve earned his residential contractor’s license in 1986 and founded Helms Builders, Inc., in 1988.
Steve insists on producing only the highest-quality homes. With a love for woodworking and carpentry, Steve maintains hands-on contact with all aspects of the construction process, ensuring that every detail is perfect. The firm has diverse building experience, including custom homes, subdivisions, and on-site building for clients with private property.
In 1994, the Cabarrus County Homebuilders Association named Steve its Builder of the Year. Steve served as vice president of the CCHA from 1996 to 1997, and then as president in 1998.
Helms Builders, Inc., now builds 6 to 12 custom homes each year in order to focus on their clients’ needs. Helms’ honesty and integrity is appreciated by his clients. He answers questions, alleviates concerns and lets clients know upfront of any potential problems.
